FAQ
About Us
Who is wallflower? Jenn and Angela met a decade ago as freelancers + lifestyle bloggers with a love of crafting, curating, and collaborating with other makers. We launched our studio in 2019, offering creative services for thoughtful brands and people, and added our ecommerce brand in fall 2022. Learn more about our journey here, and get to know us via our blog here.
Where is wallflower based? We’re based in the Pacific Northwest, but our vendors are based around the world. We currently partner with brands based in the US, Canada, Europe, South America, India, and more.
Can I shop in-person? Um, we wish! Angela and Jenn have always dreamed of owning a charming brick and mortar in a beautiful town. It’s something we love to daydream about. But for now, wallflower is an online-only shop. However, if you’re local to Portland or Seattle, be sure to follow us on Instagram or sign up for our email list so we can chat about any pop-ups or events we’re part of!
Our Products
Who makes your products? Our products are made by talented artists and independent brands from the US and around the globe. Most items are made by hand and produced in small batches. Many of our pieces are even one of a kind and wallflower exclusives.
Are your products sustainably and ethically produced? At wallflower, we are passionate about sustainability. (We even write a blog about it!) We’ve reviewed and personally connected with each brand and their products, and prioritize environmental sustainability and social responsibility when curating our boutique. We don’t work with anyone we don’t feel super proud to support during every step of production!
If you have concerns about the materials, process, or transparency of any of the products/brands featured on wallflower, we’d love for you to reach out to us directly at hello@studio-wallflower.com. Thank you for taking the time to shop with intention and offer up your sincere feedback!
Shipping + Returns
Do you ship internationally? Yes! We ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated during checkout. Depending on where you live, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Buyer is responsible for these charges if they are applied. If the order is returned due to unpaid custom fees, we will refund your original purchase price less shipping costs.
How is shipping calculated? We cover economy shipping for orders over $175 delivered within the US! For domestic orders under $175 shipping fees are based on total weight. For all international orders, fees are calculated through our website and are based on weight, carrier, and destination. You will have a chance to review shipping prior to completing your order.
When can I expect to receive my order? It takes us approximately 3-5 business days to process your order. There may be expedited shipping options available upon checkout.
PLEASE NOTE, a handful of items are made-to-order and ship directly from the vendor. This is noted in the product listing and at checkout.
Do you accept returns or exchanges? We hope you are as thrilled about everything we offer as we are! Due to the handmade and one-of-a-kind nature of many of our items, we only accept returns for store credit. Buyer must cover the cost of shipping, and mail the item back in its original condition within 14 days of receipt. Once received, reviewed*, and processed, we’ll email you an e-gift card for the full amount, minus any taxes and the original shipping cost.
*If the item is not in its original condition and cannot be re-sold, we can’t offer credit or mail it back, so please make sure it’s just how you received it!
Where do you ship from? We typically ship from Washington State. On occasion, we ship from two different locations within the state. This means your order may come in more than one package, but should arrive within a day or two of each other. If you need your order to arrive in a single package (such as a gift sent directly to the recipient), please feel free to email us at hello@studio-wallflower.com prior to purchasing so we can ensure that we have the items in stock from one location.
Additionally, we offer some products that ship directly from the vendor to reduce our environmental impact. Please make sure to read the entire product listing before adding an item to your cart, as we will note which products come from international vendors. You’ll also have a chance to review shipping details before making your final purchase from our shop!
What if my package was lost in the mail or stolen? Misplaced and stolen packages are an unfortunate risk of shopping online, especially for those living in a bigger city. We know how devastating it can be to invest in something (especially if it's rare or one of a kind like many items in our shop) that you never receive. The best way to prevent lost or stolen packages is to keep an eye on the tracking that is sent to your email once the item ships. This way you can ensure you’re home during delivery, or you can contact your local mail carrier to see if scheduling a pick-up is an option. If you won’t be home and packages are often left outside your home/building, ask a neighbor to hold it or put it in a secure place for you. That said, in the event that you don’t receive your package, you may be able to file a claim through the mail service - we often ship with USPS who includes up to $100 of insurance on each package we send. As a small business, we aren’t able to offer refunds or send replacements of most items, so please take the time to contact your mail service (usually USPS, occasionally UPS or Fedex) about any issues with delivery.
Do you offer sustainable packaging? The short answer: YES.
The long answer: As lovers of mother nature AND good design, we’re incredibly passionate about offering products and packaging that are both beautiful and earth-friendly. We’ve spent loads of time researching how to offer everything from tags to bags to tissue in a way that will keep your items beautiful and safe sustainably. This is an ongoing process that will change as we grow and can put more resources toward it.
As of now, we reuse as much packaging from vendors and even our personal lives as much as possible. We do not purchase any plastic packaging. Any plastic that arrives in your order has been reused. We also work with sustainable businesses to offer packaging made with recycled materials. We even use vintage ribbon when possible to jazz things up a bit!
